

BUCKLAND, Kevin James — 48, Hammonds Plains, passed away suddenly on June 16, 2010. Born in Halifax on February 28, 1962, he is survived by his partner of nine years, Lori Stacey of Hammonds Plains, his daughters, Terri Buckland, BSc, RN. and Lisa Buckland, both of Halifax, NS; son, RCMP Cst. Michael Buckland, Black Lake MB; granddaughter, Ruby, Halifax, step-children, Lyndsey, Jennifer, and Kourtney; parents, John and Marlene Buckland, Stillwater Lake, NS; brother, John (Jan Hennigar-Buckland), Bedford, NS; sisters, Heather, Oromocto, Ann-Marie (Chris Spears), Stillwater Lake, NS; sisters-in-law, Kerry (Bruce) Humber, Guelph, ON, Nancy (Alex) Dierckyx, Orleans, ON, Alethia (Dom) Hudson, Montreal, PQ; mother-in-law, Cynthia Mills, St. John's, NL, He is also survived by his grandfather, Louis J. Moro, Halifax; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents, John and Catherine Buckland and Florence Moro. Kevin was a 25 year employee of Canada Post and an Officer of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers for 17 years. His sense of fairness and his willingness to help others guided his work and his family life. His big heart had room for everyone, including Merlin, Lancelot, and Arthur. He will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held 12 - 2 and 7 - 9 p.m. Saturday, June 19 and funeral service 1 p.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 all from J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
