Kevin Patrick Mitchell

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kevin Patrick Mitchell on August 22, 2015, in the Palliative Care Unit of the VG Hospital, with his family at his side. He was the son of Francis and Dorothy (Rodgers) Mitchell, Bedford. He worked for 20 years or more at Dartmouth Dodge where he was liked and respected by customers and colleagues alike. Kevin was quiet and unassuming yet very vocal in the love for his family. One of his great pleasures was cars, and in particular, stock cars. He and his wife Kelly Anne spent many a summer evening attending stock car races. Besides his parents, Kevin is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Kelly Anne (Zinck); daughter, Anna and son, Caleb, at home, and son, Lee (Samantha), Toronto, and; brothers, Stephen (Linda), Keith (Toni-Lynn), and Neil (Carolyn). He is also survived by his loving in-laws, Dexter and Florence Zinck, Bedford. He was predeceased by his infant brother, Shawn David, and special aunts, Eileen Mitchell and Nora Hill. Many thanks to the nursing staff and doctors of the Palliative Care Unit 5A, VG Hospital, for their care and compassion. Many thanks also to Kevin’s daughter-in-law Samantha who gave Kelly Anne her undivided attention when it was needed most. Visitation will take place Tuesday, August 25, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, 902-455-0531. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 2:00 pm in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Bedford.
