Khaldoun was born in Amman, Jordan on January 11, 1990 and moved to Canada with his family over ten years ago. He graduated from Sir John A. MacDonald High School in 2008, where he was a member of the basketball team for three years. In 2013, he completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Saint Mary’s University, where he simultaneously followed his dream and served with the Canadian Forces Reserves as an Infantry Solider. He was currently living in Toronto, working as a Senior Associate at State Street Corporation and making friendships that would last a lifetime.
Friends and family will never forget Khaldoun’s sense of humour, permanent smile, and contagious laugh. Known as an avid reader and animal lover, Kal could often be found at the shooting range, playing online computer games, and sharing his knowledge of philosophy with friends. As we come together through this time of sadness, we remember Khaldoun’s final wishes to live life through love and forgiveness.
Predeceased by his grandparents Issa and Fairuz Abudayyeh, Khaldoun will be forever remembered by his parents, Yousef Abudayyeh and Nuthaila Rihani, and his twin brother, Omar Abudayyeh, who will carry his brother’s spirit forever. He is also survived by his maternal grandparents Yacoub and Marcelle Rihani in addition to many aunts, uncles, and cousins in Amman, Jordan.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12, from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. at the JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. The funeral will take place on Thursday, October 13, at 11 a.m. at the Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 3844 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady of Lebanon Church in Khaldoun’s memory.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me, even though he dies, will live.”
The Lord Is My Shepherd
A Psalm of David.
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters.
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
Even though I walk through
the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies;
you anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I shall well in the house of the Lord forever
