Born in New Delhi, India, he was a son of Jacqueline (Alvarez) and Clifford Jacobs.
At the tender age of nine, Kurt took his younger brother and by himself followed his mother and father to London, England; this feeling of responsibility for his sibling remained with him for the whole of his life. Kurt grew into a handsome, dedicated, fun-loving young man and met his partner and lifelong soul mate, Jane Jacobs (Sage) in 1977.
At the ripe old age of 24, Kurt and Jane were married and promptly immigrated to Canada to start a new life together. Kurt had a passion for life. He was a hardworking, entrepreneurial businessman, befriended by many and respected by even more. Kurt had a number of passions: rugby, tennis, Manchester United, and socializing; but most of all his joy was his family, Jane, his loving wife of 40 years and his children, Ross, Chloé and Mitchell.
Kurt also assumed the role of patriarch to his wider family including his brother, Karl; sister, Lynne; niece and nephew, Holly and Cameron; sister-in-law, Michelle; and daughter-in-law, Natalia, working hard to always keep the family connected and together. Kurt's loyalty knew no bounds and on many occasions, he would go beyond the pale to help his friends and colleagues. This loyalty along with his generosity, humor, and easy-going nature will be missed but remembered by all who knew him.
Flowers can be arranged through My Mother's Bloomers (902-422-2700). The family will be celebrating Kurt's life, energy, and accomplishments on April 10th at The Bicycle Thief from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Anyone wishing to attend and share their memories of Kurt are warmly welcomed.
