Sackville, NS, Peter (Pamela) Castlegar, BC, Pamela (Andre), Gander, NL, and his grandchildren, Pamela, Denis, Julia, Emily and Hannah who adored their grandfather (Papa) and he was immensely proud of them.
He will be remembered by his brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, friends, family at Bethany United Church and especially his long time friend Marilyn McGowan, wife of his best friend Jim. Dad started his career at General Electric where he rose to sales representative and worked for seventeen years. Dad went on to work for Crouse Hinds also in the sales industry for fourteen years. Dad was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting. Dad was very proud to be a member of the Royal Canadian Army Service Corporation (R.C.A.S.C) Reserve Army, and received a medal for his twelve years of service. He was a long time blood donor and gave 345 donations of blood and plasma and even went to the length of driving to Maine when he became too old to donate in Canada. Dad was proud of his time spent with the scouter movement and Scouter Les participated in many jamborees and outings.
Later in his life Dad enjoyed volunteering in the Camp Hill Hospital with their veterans until he reached the age of eighty. We would like to thank the staff at Parkstone Enhanced Care Shannex on Parkland for the care they provided over the last year for our Dad. We would like to take the time to thank Reverend Kevin Little for always being with our family and our Dad during our time of need. We would also like to thank the doctor, nurses and staff of unit 7.3 at the QE11 hospital for his care in his final days. Cremation has taken place.
