Leslie Walker Jackson

Jackson, Leslie Walker- age 96, of Halifax passed away peacefully on March 5, 2023 at Maplestone Enhanced Care. Born in Bridgetown, NS he was a son of the late Ernest and Isabelle (MacQuarrie) Jackson. He was predeceased by his wife of 68 years, Betty (Elizabeth) Jackson.

Leslie was employed with the Federal Government for 40 years in Halifax, Charlottetown and Edmonton as a financial officer, personnel administrator and internal auditor. Leslie was a Baptist involved in churches as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Following his retirement he became a member of the Kiwanis organization, including volunteer work in the IWK Children’s Hospital. He was also a palliative care volunteer for the Fairview Villa.

Leslie is survived by his children, Barbara Stevens (Merton), Cambridge, NS, Gordon, and Lorna Hume; grandchildren, Angela Breau (Joey), Jason Hume (Maia), Jamie Foy (Trudy), Jon Foy (Kim); great grandchildren, Anthony Hume, Dylan Foy, Autumn, Willow and Summer Foy; daughter- in- law, Louanne; sister-in-law, Martha

He was predeceased by his, son Paul; brothers, Donald (Hester), Jimmy, Neil, and Allan; sister, Julia (James) Mills; sons-in-law, Roger Foy and Wendell Hume.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 10, 2023 from 7-9pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday March 13, 2023 at 2pm in Birch Cove Baptist Church, 50 Donaldson Ave, Halifax. There will be a reception following the service.

Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
