Born in Digby, Nova Scotia, she was the eldest child of Lloyd and Grace Taylor. Her faith and bible reading gave her great comfort throughout her life. Her beautiful smile, wonderful sense of humour, and keen interest in others enriched the lives of everyone she met. This allowed her to form a strong bond of friendship with a great number of people. Although she was disabled since her late 20’s, she spent her life focusing on what she could do, not dwell on what she was unable to do. Linda was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed and will live in our hearts forever.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Hurd; her mother, Priscilla “Grace” Taylor; sisters, Pam Taylor and Joye Taylor-Ross [Loman Ross]; brother, Doug Taylor [Alice Taylor]; nephews, Todd, Jordon, Damian, Dustin, and niece Kali; and predeceased by her father Lloyd William Taylor and her brother Billy Taylor. Linda was like a sister to Peter’s siblings: Judy, John, and Elizabeth, and their children knew her as Aunt Linda.
The care and comfort provided by the staff of Parkstone Enhanced Care was greatly appreciated. A special thanks to all those who prayed for Linda and stayed in contact with her by way of visits, phone calls, emails, flowers, and cards. It was all very meaningful to her.
Visitation to be held in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Monday, July 15, from 4-8 pm. Funeral Service in J.A. Snow Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, July 16, 2 pm, reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the MS Society of Canada or to the First Congregational Church of Halifax.
John 3:16 is one of Linda’s favourite scriptures: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
