BALL, Lucy (Caines) - It is with broken hearts, that we announce the sudden passing of our sweet angel on February 22, 2012. Surrounded by her loving daughters; Joanne (Dieter Gautschi), Sherri (Glenn Crewe), and her beloved grandsons Brady and Jordan. She will be profoundly missed by her husband Captain Claude Ball, her sister Mary Ellen Warner and all of her family and countless friends around the world.
Lucy was born in Halifax, the daughter of Julia and Cecil Caines, she lost her mother at the tender age of 4, and was lovingly raised by her father, her Aunt Leah, and Uncle Tom Kendall. She attended Queen Elizabeth High School, and went on to a successful career with Maritime Tel&Tel where she developed some of the most meaningful friendships of her life. She was a dedicated pioneer, devoting her time to many charitable causes. As a founding member of St. Margaret of Scotland Church in Halifax, she was a faithful leader of the altar guild, the ACW, and was always held in high esteem. Her passions were her family, especially her two grandsons, her friends, sailing, travelling, and above all, ensuring that everyone around her felt special; she was the ultimate entertainer.
