Please accept my condolences for Margarets passing.  As members of the Park Avenue Congregational Church community when they lived in Arlington I knew both them and their mother quite well.  Grace and I were in the crib room with the babies and toddlers for twenty years!  Margaret taught our Women’s Guild members to make scones.  When Charlotte became bedridden I would go over to sit and read to her while Margaret and Grace were working.  They were a lovely family and we missed them when they moved back home.  They sent us photos of the condo that they had and as I recall it had a view of the sea from the front window.  They seemed very happy there!   Those of us that are left at church fondly remember Margaret, Grace and Charlotte.   Again,  my deepest sympathy to Margarets family.

My condolences to Margaret's family. After complimenting Margaret a million times on her tea biscuits, she asked if I would like a baking lesson. I went to the apartment and was met by Margaret and Grace and she had everything laid our in duplicate for me to make biscuits while she did. What a privilege to be there, surrounded by cabinets of beautiful glassware and dishes, We were all blessed to have Margaret and Grace return to this area, bringing so much to our Bedford United Church congregation. May Margaret and Grace rest in peace. I still use her church fundraiser cookbook "Coffee Hour Treats". Tea Biscuits are not in it so here is the recipe. Margaret would want you all to have it. 

Locke sisters  TEA BISCUITS
 
3 cups flour (we use Robin Hood unbleached) (Level with a knife)
1 tb. sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 tsp. salt 
1/2 cup Crisco (1 Cup sticks) 
1/4 cup butter
1 egg, beaten
1 cup milk (we use 2% milk)   If more liquid  is needed, we usually use coffee cream.
 
Combine dry ingredients.  Cut in Crisco and butter.  Add beaten egg to milk and stir into flour mixture until combined. Turn dough out onto floured area and knead gently until surface begins to appear smooth.  Turn dough over and roll out or flatten with hands to about a one-inch thickness.  Cut out and place on ungreased cookie sheet.  Prick top of biscuits twice with a fork.  Bake in 425-degree oven 12 to 15 minutes.  Yield:  fifteen 2 1/4-inch biscuits

Donnie and I have such wonderful memories of Margaret and her sister Grace, from the first day they came to Bedford United Church. They pitched right in and quickly became known for their baked goodies, which they generously shared. 
Margaret loved her extended family and her friends. She made a difference to so many and will be missed. Well done, Margaret

My deepest condolences to Margaret's family. I will always remember the good times Margaret and myself spent together ❤️  discussing my grandsons hockey scores and games. She always wanted to know how her hockey boy did after every game he played. I  will always have a place in my ❤️ for Margaret.  RIP Margaret . Love and prayers 🙏 to her family at this time.💕
