

Anderson, Margaret Belle-It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Mother, Peggy(Whittaker)Anderson on April 2, 2013 at the age of 84, after a brief illness. She was born in Halifax, a daughter of the late Edmund Barton and Clara Alan(Daine)Whittaker. Peggy was a caring, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who treasured her family members, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was able to welcome the birth recently of Ryan, her only great-grandson. She journeyed three times to Canada’s Artic to visit her family there. One of her greatest pleasures was visiting Wales, then finally getting to Newfoundland, which she did with her niece, nephews and their families. She enjoyed telling stories about her family and shared many with her personal caregivers in her final months. Peggy was a member of Trinity Anglican Church and a former member of the Gordon Group, All Saints Cathedral, Halifax. Mrs. Anderson is survived by daughters Karen Anderson, Halifax, Ronda(Joe)Ohokannoak, Cambridge Bay, Nunavit, Margaret Joan Rouhani, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and son Kenneth(Roseanne)Anderson, Shad Bay, Halifax, six grand-daughters, three grandsons, three great grand-daughters and one great grandson, sisters in law Vera(Anderson)Noyes and Claudia(Anderson)Boam, one cousin William Latham, Dartmouth and several nieces and nephews. Peggy was predeceased by her beloved husband Ronald Kenneth Anderson, sisters Marion Peevy, Dorothy Rickard, Frances Buchanan and Lila Geddes. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2013, 2-4 and 7-9pm in JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr. Hfx NS B3S 0E1(455-0531). A Funeral service will be held Friday, April 5, 2013, 10am in Trinity Anglican Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity Anglican Church, Halifax, World Vision or a charity of your choice. Thanks to the Palliative Care Dept, the VON and special thanks to Valerie Cook, Amber, Christine, Kate and Piper- Eain Lipp who brought solace during our Mother’s final days.
