Margot Anne Corkum

February 18, 1935September 29, 2019

Margot Anne Corkum, age 84, of Halifax, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2019. She was born on February 18, 1935, in Nottingham, England and raised in Halifax. She was the daughter of the late Una Thomson. Margot was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an exceptional tole painter and for many years she volunteered her time painting with the IWK Auxiliary for the Kermesse. She was an avid bowler and curler and enjoyed watching and listening to sports. Margot was a good photographer and particularly enjoyed taking photos of nature and her grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was gardening, always looking for the right flowers each year which were always beautifully displayed in her yard. Everyone who met Margot loved her sense of humor and quick wit. Margot never missed a Saturday morning at the market where she would spend hours socializing and buying her goodies, never leaving without gingerbread cookies for her grandchildren. Margot is survived by her children Bentley (Cathy), Brian (Jane) and Andrew (Deb); grandchildren Paul, Matthew, Sarah, Stephen, David and Ben; as well as nieces and nephews. A service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 2 pm, officiated by Reverend Jim Anderson. Interment will be held at a later date at the Camp Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Margot can be made to Parkinson Canada or a charity of choice.
