María del Carmen García (née Revilla-Alayza) passed away peacefully on the evening of December 23, 2020, finally rejoining her beloved husband Lucho who preceded her by 35 years. She is survived by her four children: Martin (Trish), Ignacio (Beth, Luis, Santiago, Gabriela, José, and María-Elena), Patricio (Amanda, Rylen, Julie) and Alondramaría. She is also survived by her two younger siblings Luis María Revilla-Alayza (Carmen) and Marilú Revilla-Stein, and predeceased by her dear mother, Charo.
Ever the cosmopolitan woman, Maricarmen as she was known, was born in Lima, Peru, travelled the world, and brought much laughter to the many places she called home. She was well known for her patience, love of games, and an uncanny luck that God rewarded her with for her unceasing love and devotion to her family. We love you Mami, and know that while in a better place, you will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
