KUSSMAUL, Maria Theresia – 78, of Halifax, Nova Scotia passed away January 17, 2013 in Peterborough Health Center, Ontario while visiting her daughter and family for the holidays. Maria passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family. Born in Neu Isenburg, Germany, she was the daughter of Paul and Anna (Andre) Thibout. Maria was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Gunther Kussmaul. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling in her younger years. Survived by her daughters Annette (Franz) and Stephanie (Chris); brother Heinz Thibout; sisters Clare and Gertrude and granddaughters Stephanie Hellwig (Alex), Ashley Dunn and Emma Brun-Hayne.
Visitation will take place Friday, January 25th in Snow's Funeral Home , 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax from 6-8 p.m. Private family burial of Maria and Gunther will take place this summer.
