It is with great sadness that we, the family of Marjorie Ellen Brenton (Marriott), announce that she passed away on January 11, 2019 in Windsor Elms Village with two of her daughters by her side. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Gordon Frederick Brenton. She is survived by her children, Valerie M. Hennigar, Bridgewater; Gordon C. Brenton, Antigonish; Trudy B. Legere Matheson, Bedford; Donald R. Brenton, Greenville, N.C.; Michelle B. Brenton, Belfast, Northern Ireland. She is survived by her sisters, Edna Pardy, Surrey B.C.; Viola Macintyre, New Brunswick; Bernadette Irons, Halifax; brother, David Marriott, Halifax. She was predeceased by her parents, Ruben and Elizabeth Marriott (Halifax); sister, Madeline Wells; brothers, Bruce Marriott, Ruben Marriott, Douglas Marriott and Joseph Marriott.
Mardie, as she was known, was a great supporter of Hantsport United Church and spent her last years with her husband residing in Hantsport. She was known and loved by all her friends and family as a great mother and homemaker. Her homemade bread was known far and wide. The last eight years of her life were difficult living with this terrible disease but the nurses and staff at Windsor Elms eased her through them with great care and compassion. We can’t thank them enough for their tender care. Marjorie will be interred in Hansport Cemetery next to her husband Gordon on their anniversary, June 2nd, with a graveside service for family and friends.
