

Marjorie Burgoyne, 91, of Halifax, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023 at the Halifax Infirmary.
Born July 7, 1931, she was the daughter of Isaiah and Gladys Bungay. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul, her daughter Donna, and her great grandson, Rhys. She is survived by her daughter Darlene, her son Danny, grandsons Jamie, Ryan and Daniel and her three great grandchildren, Asher, Winston and August.
Marjorie grew up in Halifax and attended Bloomfield School. She was athletic and was a member of Bloomfield’s track and field team and played softball with Sears Robuck team when she worked there.
Upon marrying Paul, she became a devoted wife and mother. She loved children and operated an in-home day care for many years, but more than anything she valued her family. Marjorie was a skilled seamstress and spent her spare time sewing, as well as crafting, knitting and crocheting. She enjoyed music, singing as well as playing the piano and guitar. In her later years she enjoyed being entertained by bands and music at jamborees and sing alongs.
Mum, you will be missed, and our love for you will live on forever.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Infirmary who took such wonderful care of her during her stay. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 2 pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax.
