She would later return to D’Escousse every summer with her young family. During the war years Marjorie attended Mount St. Vincent University graduating Summa Cum Laude and after her children were born went on to a rewarding career as a teacher and counsellor at St. Patrick’s Junior High School in Halifax. From her early days helping her mother care for her much younger siblings, raising her own family, and with the many students she taught and guided at St. Pat’s (Alexandria). Marjorie’s life has been one of constant caring of the best kind.
It is appropriate and wonderful that in her later years she has received such great care from her family, the staff of Northwood and Nightingale Homecare, and her doctor Dr. Brian Ashton, all especially so kind and professional during her last days. Her family were devout Catholics and this faith stayed with Marjorie to the end, generously supported by the communion ministry of Saint Ignatius Church.
