Mary Elizabeth Howard

HOWARD, Mary Elizabeth, age 91, of Halifax, passed away Dec 8, 2017 at the QEII Hospital. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late John and Ella Green (Connors) and was the last surviving member of Green family. Mary worked hard as a cleaner and was an avid bingo and card player. Survived by her daughters, Marie (Vincent) Jollimore, Carol (David) Feener; sons; Alex (Marilyn) Painting, William (Barb) Painting, James (Carol) Painting; 25 Grandchildren, 45 Great-Grandchildren, 24 Great-Great Grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary is predeceased by her husband, James Howard; sons, John, Reggie, Herbert, daughter, Brenda; sisters, Florence, Frances, Dorothy, Elizabeth, Sylvia, Judith; brothers, John, George and Alexander. Special heartfelt thanks to Barb, Willie, and Cheryl for all the love and care you provided to Mum. Visitation for Mary will be held on Tuesday, December 12th, 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm, with a funeral service on Wednesday, December 13th, at 10:00 am with reception to follow. Both from JA Snow Funeral Home at 339 Lacewood Drive. Burial will be held at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
