

Almira was born in the beautiful tiny fishing village of Little Anse, CB, on August 13th, 1934, to the late Marie (Violet) Boudreau (nee Samson) and the late James Thomas Boudreau both of Little Anse, CB.
She will be sadly missed by her partner of 25 yrs, Neil Landry, her children, Earl (Myr), Marlene (Ernie), and Lisa, her grandchildren, Sonya, Lia (Steve), Derek (Kaitlyn), Charlotte, (Alexa) and Tristan, (Jessica), great-grandchildren, John, Victoria, Kade, Kohen, and Nixon.
She is also survived by her sister, Teresa Labbe (Ontario), sister-in-law Anna Ellis (Bruce) and daughter-in-law, Ellen Scanlan, son-in-law, Dennis Pollard, as well as special cousins Elizabeth Samson, Delima Scanlan, Delia White.
Almira was a faithful member of St. Pius X Church in Fairview, where she lived for over 40 years. She proudly worked in retail for many years retiring from The Bay store (Hfx) with 30 yrs of service.
Almira was an amazing seamstress and spent her retirement yrs crafting, quilting, dancing and travelling to Paris, London, Nashville, Cuba, Florida and the DR. She was a member of Scotia Branch Legion, Branch 25 as well as a long-time member of the Fairview Legion, Branch 142.
Along with her parents Almira was predeceased by her husband, Jim Scanlan, brother, Carl Boudreau, sister-in-law, Loretta Boudreau, sister, Lucille Forgeron, brother-in-law, Velma Forgeron, brother-in-law, Romeo Labbe, sisters-in-law, Marcella Byrne, (Lee Byrne), Eileen Sampson,(Alfred Sampson), Donzella Sampson, (Teddy Sampson) and Elizabeth Smith (Bernie), brothers-in-law, John Scanlan (Arvilla), Wilfred Scanlan, Paul Scanlan, nephews, Wayne Sampson, Bob Byrne, Kevin Scanlan, Barry Scanlan, niece, Myra Isherwood, nephew Mark Forgeron, Stephen Forgeron.
Visitation will be held on Thursday September 25, 2pm–4pm & 6pm-8 pm at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, N.S. There will be a special Legion service held at 7pm to honor Mom's Service to the legion.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 12:15PM at St. Benedict Parish, Church, 45 Radcliffe Dr, Halifax, NS, with a reception to follow. The funeral will be live streamed, please join by the link on the funeral home website. www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
Cremation will take place, and interment will be held on October 3, 2025 at 11:00AM at the Star of the Sea Cemetery Columbarium, Petit de Grat, CB, NS. Followed by a reception at The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 150, 1219 Veterans Memorial Drive, Arichat, NS.
We would like to thank all the staff of Garden Court, Parkstone Enhanced Care, as well as Dr Raju for the care and compassion shown to our mother during her time as a resident where she was known as “Mom” and “Gorgeous” and that she was, so we thank you.
