May June Byng

June 9, 1933May 13, 2019

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and aunt. She passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 85.

June worked at the Victoria General Hospital, the Airport and CFB Halifax for many years at each location. She was a strong and independent woman who lived her life to the fullest till her passing. She loved and cared for her animals. If she found a hurt animal, she would bring them home and nurse them to health. She had a way with animals that amazed everyone.

She was born June 9, 1933 in Halifax. She was predeceased by her son James Lewis and parents John Micheal Saccary and Kathleen Florance (Parks), brothers John Clifford and Clarence Angus (Corky). She is Survived by sister Marjorie (Fred) Smith of 52 North River Road Aylesford N. S. brother Donald (Theresa) Saccary of Halifax.

A Special Thanks to the Palliative Care Team who took such great care of her in her time of need.

There will be a small Celebration of Life at J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Wednesday May 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM, with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Bide Awhile Animal Shelter.

June was a hard working, brutally honest, extremely independent and ethical woman. I loved that about her and will always remember her for those admirable qualities. I can only hope now that she is reunited with her son and all her dear animals she tended to that she has finally found comfort for her soul. Rest in peace my dear friend, you will never be forgotten.

My heart goes out to the family of June. She was a special lady ,determined ,independent to a fault ....choosing to do all she could by herself ,not wanting to put anyone out of their way to do for her ,her last months were ones of hope and thankfulness for her Niece Linda who was her strength and lifeline to the end .My God hold you tightly in his arms ,June is now released from this world and rejoined with her beloved son ,I know she is now at peace ,watching over you all till you meet again ......
