
May Violet Noonan, age 95 of Halifax, died peacefully on May 12, 2014. May was born in Halifax to Reuel Weber and Angeline Sarah (Mason) Longard. She was predeceased by husband John Edward Noonan; brothers, Ivan, Carl, Roy and Ray in infancy and her only sister Jean Longard, who was also her dearest friend and companion since her husband’s death and they were inseparable. May was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by her niece, Jeanne Trimper, Bridgewater; nephews, Carl Longard, Truro, David and Stephen F. Longard, Halifax, and Stephen S. Longard, Hubley.
May and Jean, known as the “Mountain Gals”, sang together on CHNS radio in the 1930’s.
May had a very kind and loving spirit and was always grateful for everything done for her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Arrangements have been entrusted to J. A. Snow Funeral Home. 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531) where a memorial will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 10:00 am.
