Nancy Russell

The family is sad to announce the passing of Nancy Russell. We love you and will miss you. Nancy was born in Beach Meadows August 4, 1947. She attended school in Liverpool and graduated from the VG School of Nursing in 1968 and received a Diploma in Public Health from Dalhousie in 1970. She worked for a number of health related organizations, the last one being the Victorian Order of Nurses - Halifax Branch. She was very active in United Memorial Church and served as Church Elder, on the Board of Stewards and was a Sunday School teacher. She also belonged to both the Halifax Curling Club and the Mayflower Curling Club. Her biggest joy was her family and bringing up her children. She is survived by husband, Jim; daughters, Jennifer Gosling (Blair), Susan Russell (Joe Nunn); grandchildren, Ireland, Avelynn, Jacob and Sammy; and brother, Borden Colp (Lil). She was predeceased by brother, Donald Colp (Beryl) and her parents, Madeline and Charles Colp. The funeral will be held in United Memorial Church 5375 Kaye St., Halifax on Thursday, April 9, at 2 p.m. There will be no visitation before the funeral. Donations may be made to the Huntington Society of Canada.
