Pat Shires

Patrice (Pat) Shires age 73 of Halifax, passed away December 20, 2016 at Shannex Drummond Hall. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of Rita and Lawrence Sullivan. Survived by daughter Susan (Craig) Bishop; sister Rose Sullivan; brothers Jim, Larry (Sharon) and Garrett (Janis, deceased); three grandchildren, William, Megan and David; married to David Shires for 28 years, and had many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughter Jennifer; parents Rita and Lawrence.

Pat loved nature and greatly enjoyed her time at her cottage watching birds and spending time with friends. She was an avid birder and loved to do nature walks. Pat worked in management most of her career but earned her Masters of Education later in life and worked with adult learners. She worked most recently caring for seniors. Family meant the world to her. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and she loved spending time with them.

Visitation to be held Tuesday December 27, 2016 from 5 – 7pm at JA Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Service Wednesday December 28 at 1:00pm JA Snow Funeral Home, burial to follow at Gate of Heaven cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Asthma Association or Cancer Research.
