Keddy, Patricia "Pat" Ann (née Chisholm), 66, of Bedford, beloved mother of Alexander and Maeghan, and wife of the late Dr. Stewart Keddy, passed away peacefully after a brief fight with cancer. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Sadie Chisholm.
She graduated from Acadia University in 1970 with a degree in English. She went on to obtain her teaching certification, and taught for several years in both Alberta and Nova Scotia. While raising her children, Pat left teaching to become the office manager at Purdy's Wharf Dental Group, where her husband practiced, retiring in 2012. She spent her retirement travelling, especially to anywhere with a warm beach, good books, and better wine.
She took on her diagnosis with her usual determination, practicality, and minimal fuss. Pat will be remembered for her love of red wine, gardening, reading, delicious cooking, and her fastidious house (despite everyone else conspiring against her).
She is survived by her siblings, Tom (Carmel) Chisholm, Truro; Debbie (Steve) Bezanson, Waterville; Kitty (Greg) Sanford, Hall's Harbour; and Rod Chisholm, Chester; and several nieces, nephews, and their children.
All are welcome to attend a reception at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on November 12th from 7-9pm and raise a glass to Pat.
Private family internment to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Keddy Family Foundation, which supports charitable causes important to Pat and Stew.
