Born in Sydney Cape Breton, April 13, 1929. Pauline was the daughter of the late Wilfred Laurier Ashe and Margaret Mary (McAvoy) Ashe.
Pauline was educated at St Thomas Aquinas School and St Patrick’s Girls School. After Grade 11, Pauline went on to take the Commercial Program and graduated with honors in Bookkeeping. She was hired as a secretary for Royal Print and Litho Co. Ltd., where she worked until she married. She would eventually use these bookkeeping skills to work along side her husband Donald, in their family owned business, Central Bookkeeping Services.
Pauline was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Social Club, where she met her husband Donald. This was also where Pauline and Donald met many of their life long friends. The “Knitting Club” was started from this group of special friends, these great girlfriends would get together once a month for more than 50 years.
Pauline and Donald loved their summer retreat in Ketch Harbour, where family and friends were always welcomed and entertained. Pauline was a talented cook and loved to host dinners and parties for all her family and friends.
Pauline was the center of her family. All were drawn to Pauline for her loving personality, her warm heart, her kind soul and sweet smile. Her door was always open to family, friends and neighbours.
Pauline is survived by her children, son David Andrew (Patti Davis); daughters Margaret Sarah (James Malcolm) and Catherine Jean (Rick Myers); grandchildren John David Young, Julia Catherine Young and Nicole Hannah Myers; her sister Catherine Mary “Kitty” O’Malley and brother James William (Michel Fillion), and numerous nieces and nephews who were so very dear to her.
