Born in Ottawa, he was a son of the late Gordon and Phyllis Ineson.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Thompson, of Halifax; a son Geoffrey Ineson (Pauly), Vancouver; a daughter Dawn Ineson-Fry (Peter), Vancouver; four stepsons, Bruce Thompson (Sandi), Kenneth Thompson (Charlene), Alan Thompson, all of Halifax, and Brian Thompson (Anita), Dartmouth.
Peter was retired after a lengthy career with the RCMP. In his “second career”, he enjoyed officiating at many marriages during his years as a Justice of the Peace. He was an avid bridge player and stamp collector.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on August 19, 2025 from 2:00-4:00 pm.
