Peter Michael Mahoney

MAHONEY, Peter Michael Sr.— 79 of Halifax, passed away peacefully in the VG Site, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Joseph and Bridget (Scanlan) Mahoney. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marie(Charlton) Mahoney; daughters, Anne Mahoney, Calgary; Mary MacDonald, Franklin, Mass.; son, Peter (Tracy), Dartmouth; sisters, Moria and Monica Mahoney, Halifax; brother, Tom, Truro; grandchildren, Sarah (Don) Dorey, Michael, Chris, Colin, Jefferey and Katie; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Dorey, Madeline Dorey and Alexander Dorey. Peter was predeceased by brothers, Joseph, Matthew, Paul and John. Cremation has taken place under the direction of J.A. Snow Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, December 18, in St. John the Baptist Church, Father Allan MacDonald officiating. A private family burial will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to Hope Cottage or a charity of choice.
