Survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Claire (Longley); his daughters Heather of Lawrencetown and Shari of Windsor, ON; grandchildren Casey, Devon, Michael and Madelaine; great-grandchildren Kevin, Benjamin, Rachel, and Sam; brother and good buddy John of Halifax; beloved sister-and brother-in-law Ethel and Ken Marchant of Truro; many nephews and nieces and grand-nephews and -nieces. Predeceased by son Alan “Dusty”; brothers Donald, Leon, and Fred.
Ralph Fiske was a self-educated man who accomplished a great deal in his life: entrepreneur, politician, cabinet minister, public servant, community volunteer and philanthropist; but above all a doggedly devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. A man of great integrity, mischievous humour, profound love and loyalty, and true grit.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Valerie Lewis, Kathy MacPherson, Kristin Sinclair, Sharon Garoway and the other staff at Parkland at the Gardens for their kind and personalized care.
Visitation for Ralph will be at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive Halifax, on Monday January 23, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s United Church 6036 Coburg Road, Halifax on Tuesday January 24, 2017 at 2 p.m. Interment at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown, Annapolis County, beside his parents, brothers, and son.
