The family of Ann Connor of Halifax is saddened to announce her passing at the age of 89, on July 24, 2021. Ann, a resident of Parkstone Enhanced Care Halifax, passed surrounded by her devoted family. Ann was born in Halifax on January 7th, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Raymond V. and Dorothy E. (Forristall) Martin.
Ann’s greatest loves were her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always enthusiastic to volunteer her babysitting services, enjoying many experiences with them throughout the years. Ann enjoyed travelling to sunny destinations with family and friends, being particularly fond of cruise tours. She had great affection towards her American relatives, making regular trips to Waukeena Lake, New Hampshire. An avid walker and reader, Ann hiked weekly to the library. Her daily routine was initiated with reading the paper, followed by the cryptoquote, bridge and crossword puzzles. Ann enjoyed entertaining family and friends (the Gourmet Club), all of whom benefited from her culinary talents. A keen bridge player, Ann found pleasure in the social and competitive nature of the game. Her regular summer visits to the Waegwoltic Club continued throughout her life. Over the years Ann volunteered at the IWK, Hope Cottage and The Nova Scotia Art Gallery.
Ann is survived by her daughters, Lynn Mullenger, Patricia (John) Hunson, Christine (late Oscar) Stevens and companion Al MacKenzie; son, Paul (Carol) Connor. Nan, as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren are as follows, Rachel (Jonathan) MacIntosh, Andrew (partner Emma Becker) Mullenger, Josh (partner Jenny Barry) Hunson, Jonathan (fiancée Hannah Webb) Hunson and Victoria Connor. Great grandchildren include James and Claire MacIntosh. She is survived by sisters; Elaine (late Paul) Posiak, Muriel (late Jack) Hessian; and many nieces and nephews. Ann was predeceased by her husband Paul Morton Connor; son in law Oscar (Christine) Stevens; brothers; Charles (late May) Martin and (Jennet), Cyril “Mac” (late Delphine and daughter Nancy) and (late Dorothy) Martin, Gerry (late Mary) Martin, Kenneth (late Una) Martin and Basil (late Ethel) Martin; sisters in law Edith (Earl) Chute and Marguerite (late Jack) McElroy; brother in law Blake (Leola) Connor.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the compassionate care provided by the Palliative nurses and support staff at Garden Court in Parkstone Enhanced Care.
