Sunday, January 16th, 2022. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Cathy Ohlhausen
and Patrick Keough, and Jeff and Christine Ohlhausen. His beloved wife, Linda Ohlhausen, passed
away in 2010. Proud grandfather of grandchildren Colby, Alyssa, Peyton and Millie.
He was a kind and generous man, always putting family first, providing a safe and secure home
for all of his family. He worked hard to provide for his family, leaving Revelstoke, BC to join the
Air Force where he served until being honorably discharged. He then worked for Transport Canada
and the Coast Guard as a manager leading the implementation of new technologies.
He never missed a kid's sporting event and loved his dog Muggins. He enjoyed woodworking,
providing friends and family with tables, bowls and bread boards. He was a badminton player
who could beat younger, fitter players by controlling the game. He was decades ahead of the
microbrew trend making beer and wine in his home for decades, and he enjoyed savouring the
results of his hard work.
When he lived in his house, he maintained a large garden and completed extensive projects and
renovations around the house. He could fix your car, your house or your computer. In retirement
he travelled around the United States and Canada towing a travel trailer and exploring North
America. After his wife passed away he lived alone, remaining independent until the end.
Dad was honest and fair, not tolerating those who didn't live up to those standards. He was not
overtly emotional, but you always knew he was looking out for you and would be there whenever
needed.
The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of 3IMCU at the QEII for all that they did for
Dad. We will not be having a service or visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future
date.
In lieu of flowers, Dad would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes
Canada.
