Auntie Rita, my Godmother, and my mom's University roommate brought so many smiles and memories to myself and my family.  From her spooky Dracula costume at Halloween, to watching her perform in the orchestra in a Peter Pan play in Red Deer, AB, Auntie Rita was a strong, loving person. I am very saddened to hear of her passing but I will forever remember her and think of her bright smile and strong laugh.  Lots of love to you, Auntie Rita  xoxoxo

Rita and I were tight friends for a good part of our high school years. I am glad to know she lived and died with much music and love in her life.

My sympathy to Rita's partner Sharon and to Rita's family.  It really saddens my heart to hear of Rita's passing.  She had a hug smile and she is not someone to forget.  She was so much fun to be with, she was a great person and a good hockey player.  Always loved to hear her play her music.  I will really miss her.

Thinking fondly of Rita and remembering her at CCI. She was such fun, had cool sports gear and wore huge watches. Mulherns was the place to find your perfect speedo or bike, a Chatham landmark. Rita worked very hard there after school and seemed to enjoy us popping in to pester and browse.
My sincere condolences to Sharon, family and friends at this most 
difficult time. Know that her old high school friends recall her well with great affection. Such a loss. Our hearts extend to yours.

I was saddened to hear of Rita's passing.  I remember her well as a high school classmate in Chatham.  She had a huge smile and was a caring friend.  Deepest sympathy to her family and loved ones.

I am sorry to hear this sad news.  I played in the high school band with Rita
and she also convinced me to be goalie for the womens' hockey team.  She was always fun to be with.

Very sad to hear of Rita's death. Once met, Rita was not a person to be forgotten .... her radiant smile and sincere welcome with engaging conversation were most memorable. Rita always called to say hello whenever her band was playing in CB.

I was Rita's classmate throughout our high school years at Chatham Collegiate Institute and I regret that we lost touch.  I very well remember her smile, which she apparently acquired in childhood and which did not dim throughout her life.  It looks like she had some fabulous adventures and wonderful times with family and friends.  Rita's life was much too brief. 
You and Rita's family are in my heart and prayers.

It is a very sad day for me, especially now that I am so far away in Calgary where I first met Rita.  I was blessed to be a part of Rita's life, and some of her family.  I know how much love that woman held in her heart, and I will truly miss her.  
My condolences also come from my Aunt Regina (who was living across the street from her many years ago, and also her daughter, Christina)

Rita will be missed by her many friends and family.  Her smile was contagious and her musical ability was superb.  Rest in peace and our condolences to all.

Dear Sharon and family,

I was devastated to learn of Rita's health situation awhile ago. I hoped for the best. It did appear that Rita has led her whole life to the fullest (from the photos I looked at here) and from working with her in Stad Band from 2011 - 2014 when she retired. She was always such a positive person with that wide grin. She always wanting to be involved in whatever was going on. My sympathy goes out to everyone.

Sharon and Boyle family, so sorry to hear about your loss. Rita was such a nice person. We met her through the Stadecona Band where our son Jurgen also played in. We wish you all the strenght you need with this loss.

I am saddened to hear this news.  I had lost track of Rita.  I attended high school with her and was re-aquainted with her at Queen's University.  Rita lived in my living room for most of a semester.  I would share rides with her back to Chatham, our shared hometown. I've lost track of Dale too.  We were all good friends a long time ago. She was an amazing person.

I was so sorry to hear of Rita's passing. I was so blessed to have seen her again this past September when she was in Montreal and she treated us to lunch! Her smile never changed. May she rest in peace.

To say I'm going to miss Rita is an understatement. After playing beside her in the Stadacona Band for 20 years she has left me with a hole in my heart that can never be filled. Rita had a permanent smile and people at our concerts could always tell there was no other place she rather be. Yes she had a short retirement but she was able to spend so much of her life doing what she loved the most...How many of us  can say that? Love and prayers for Sharon and family.

Rita was such a beautiful person with the warmest smile that just welcomed everyone.  It was an honour to be around such a wonderful and gifted friend.
