Bobby was Born on November 25, 1940 in Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia to Lawrence and Jean Caume (nee Shibinette)
Bobby married his true love, Margaret Cecilia Hines (Margie) on May 21, 1966 and together they welcomed their children, Robert (Kyle/Wendy) and Jennifer McBride (Jamie) becoming a close knit unit of four.
Bobby and Margie were blessed with three beautiful grandchildren, Andrew Caume (Becca), Allie McBride Symons (Tyler), and Katie McBride (Tyler).
Bobby is also survived by his loving sisters, Amelia (late Wayne) and Marie, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bobby was predeceased by his parents Lawrence (1980) and Jean (2017) and his beloved brother Dennis (1983).
Bypassing grade 12, Bobby attended Xavier Junior college in Sydney. He later went on to STFX, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts Degree as well as a Bachelor of Education. Bobby continued his journey of learning, obtaining his masters degree at the university of Maine in Orono and also attending Oxford University in the UK.
Bobby was a devoted English teacher; first at St. Michael Senior High School in Glace Bay for 28 years and later at Sydney Academy for six years. Bobby thrived teaching English, sharing his love for literature, poetry and Shakespeare with his students. Nothing made Bobby happier than running into former students and chatting about those English classes or receiving a heartfelt letter from a former student. His true gift was bringing live theatre to Glace Bay. This was Bobby‘s passion and over many years he directed countless productions including Hair, The Lark, Some Enchanted Evening, Godspell, Jesus Christ Superstar, Waiting for Godot, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, and more. He shined when he was decorating for a winter carnival, prom or centre 200.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Bobby‘s life at 2 pm on September 12, 2025 at Snow’s funeral home in Clayton Park Halifax, reception to follow. Donations in honour of Bobby can be made to Glace Bay Food Bank.
