
Born in Halifax, he was the son of Sandra L. (Halstead) Harnum and the late Nelson Harnum.
He was a graduate of the Sterile Processing program at the Vancouver Community College. A long-time employee of Crothall Healthcare, he worked at the Victoria General Hospital. He had a lifelong passion for social justice issues and was a friend and supporter of the late Fran Hosken in her early efforts to eradicate the practice of FGM. He was a proud member of CUPE local 2761.
He is survived by his sister, Jennifer, Ottawa; aunt, Joyce, Seal Cove, NL; uncle, Raymond, and cousins, Blanchard (Marsha) and Kimberley, all of Halifax. He was predeceased by his uncle, Eric and cousin, James.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no memorial service. Following his cremation, his ashes will be scattered.
