BARRIOS, Roberto Bruce – 48, of Fletcher’s Lake, passed away on November 30, 2011. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our brother Rob. We know he is happy with his beloved Bear as they meet again in a better place.
Born in Florida, Rob was predeceased by his father Luis (Fred) Barrios and mother Diane Nickerson. He is survived by his sisters Nina, Helen (Dave) and Beverly (Rodney) and his nieces and nephews: Riley, Samantha, Ryan, Logan, and Jenna whom he loved so much, and Tia Nelly. Rob was well known in the community for his entrepreneurial skills including working in the family business, bartending, and running his own business. He was also known for his green thumb and enjoyed being in the garden and proud of his crop work. He would always brag about the veggies he grew, especially the peppers. Rob had many friends and enjoyed having a beer and cooking whatever he could throw together. We will forever miss his omelets. There are so many stories to tell, it would fit the whole newspaper, but he did have a big heart and will be sadly missed. Rob will always be remembered for his sharp wit and helping hand. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 2-4 & 6-8pm at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531, where the funeral service will be held on Monday, December 5th at 1:00pm. Cremation to follow service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bide Awhile Animal Shelter or any animal shelter organization of your choice. Please visit: www.jasnowfuneralhome.com
