Born in New Brunswick, he dedicated his life to the military. He married Rosella Mayo in 1965 and raised two children, Pam and Tony.
Roy loved gardening, the Bluejays, birdwatching, Sunday dinners with his family, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosella Sears; children Pam Gale (Gary); Tony Sears (Susana). His grandchildren, Kristy Gale (Marc); Jamie Friesen (Chris); Joshua Sears (Samantha). Great grandchildren, Isaak, Sylvia, Anduin, Arthas, and Jainah.
