Ruth Mariam Maxwell

Maxwell, Ruth Mariam age 86 of Halifax, passed away March 23, 2015, peacefully at home with her family by her side. Born in Mulgrave, NS, she was the daughter of Alonzo Carr and Katherine Carr (MacDonald).

Mom worked as a dietician at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Massachusetts and Saint Catherine’s General Hospital before staying home to raise her family. She loved gardening, politics, the cottage, watching her children in figure skating and hockey, and walking Hubbard’s Beach with her grandchildren.

Survived by her husband of 62 years, Earl Maxwell; daughter, Joyce Roberts (Bruce); sons, Ralph (Roselle d’Entremont) and Lee; grandchildren, Scott, Brianne, and Léo; her sister, Connie as well as many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her brother, Ralph and sisters, Margaret and Ada.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26, in Saint Benedict Parish at 10:30 am. Burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Sackville. Family flowers only.
