

Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Anna (Mc-Manus) and Harold Hunt.
After graduating from St. Patrick High School, she started work as a stenographer for Simpsons. She held a certificate in art from Nova Scotia Art College. Working as a store clerk later in life, she also served as a Brown Owl for Girl Guides of Canada. Her final work was with St. Andrews School Daycare, where she found her true calling and fulfilled her love of working with children.
Predeceased by her estranged husband, Charles S. Mason; and daughter, Heather (Mason) Abriel. Survived by daughter, Susan; grandchildren, Kate, Daniel and Shelagh Abriel, Andrew, Timothy, Peter and Michael Hallonquist; and great-grandchildren, Eden, Elliot, Alice, Claire and Killian.
