Sheila Louise O'Brien

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sheila Louise O’Brien on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at the age of 70 years. Sheila slipped away peacefully at QEII hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

She enjoyed her summers at her favorite place, her cottage at Amherst Shore, where she entertained many friends and family, cooked gorgeous meals, played cards, planted flowers and vegetables which she lovingly preserved. She hosted many parties, activities and accepted all visitors kindly offering food and drink, which was her tradition.

We will always remember your courage, strength, and the love you brought into our lives, and the steadfast fight you carried out the last several years.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband of 43 years, Patrick, of Bedford, children Shawn (Kelsey) (Mid. Sackville), Colleen (Kyle) Grandchildren Mya and Bo (Bedford). She was predeceased by her parents John (Jack) O’Neill and Mary (Firth) O’Neill; brothers Bruce, 1972 and John, 2008 (Ottawa); Raymond O’Neill (St. John’s). She will also be dearly missed by her Siblings Janet Hudson (Bill) (St. John’s); and Bob (Vickie) (St. John’s). Upon her wishes cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at the Maccan Cemetery on a later date.
