Bob and Shirley settled in Spryfield in 1955, and she began her long association with Emmanuel Anglican Church where she became an Enrolling Member of Mother’s Union. She was one of the founding members of the Emmanuel Ladies Fellowship (ELF) group as well as the Anglican Church Women (ACW) group. Proudly, she was also one of the first women Lay Readers at Emmanuel and one of the first women to sit on the Parish Council. She was a delegate to the Diocesan Synod and a dedicated member of various other groups within the church. She held many leadership roles in support of women and was an inspiring mother to her six children. Her family was of utmost importance to her and living her life of faith and good will was apparent to all who knew her. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Hugh Matheson, the staff of Northwood Home Care, the Continuing Care Program and the staff of Home Instead Senior Care, especially our angel caregiver, Lisa Swinamer – our words alone cannot express our appreciation.
