Thomas William Henry Briand

Thomas Briand, 83, of Herring Cove passed away May 3rd, 2024 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Halifax he was the eldest son of Thomas and Hilda Briand.

Thomas was a life long entrepreneur, a house painter who always took great pride in his work. Always confident in his ability to figure things out, there was rarely a challenge he wouldn’t try, often performing much more than painting for his clients. Thomas never really retired, working daily until just a few years ago, his pride of his work ever present.

Left to mourn are his life long partner Marsha Saunders, his brother George (Jane) Briand, sisters; Shirley (Bill) Bourque, Judy (Danny) Purcell, Nancy (Jim) Holt, nieces and nephews; Debbie, Paul, Scott, Shelly, Dale, Rae-Leah, Aron and Chad, and many great nieces and nephews, as well as long time friend Terry Leahey. He was predeceased by his parents Thomas and Hilda Briand.

Special thanks to the stroke team on floor 7.4 of the Infirmary for their care in his final days.

Visitation will be held Monday May 13th 5-8pm at JA Snow Funeral home 339 Lacewood Dr in Halifax.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday May 14th 11am at Saint Agnes Roman Catholic Parish Church at 6903 Mumford Road in Halifax, reception to follow in the church hall.

Private family burial following the reception at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lower Sackville.
