

Thomas George Dickey - of Hubbards and Dartmouth. On December 9th, 2011, while surrounded by Family and friends Tom was called home. Tom was born in Saint John, New Brunswick on March 12th 1938. Tom was pre deceased by his parents Alice (Northrup) and William Dickey, infant siblings Lawrence and Barbra Ann, Brothers Robert Northrup (Dickey), Kenneth Dickey and Sister Eleanor Dean. Tom is survived and forever remembered by his best friend and wife of fifty one years Elise (Ginny Spellman), Son, Thomas George (Darla), Daughters, Brenda Lee Anderson, Ann Margaret (Glenn) Gaudet. He will greatly missed by his grand children Meridith, Seabring, and Thomas William. As well by Tom's four cats Rouger, Ginger, Girlie, and Butler. Tom's two faithful companions, Boots and Buddy, who never left Tom's side, are deeply saddened by his death. Tom retired from Halifax City Field Operations in 2003. Prior to being employed by the City of Halifax, Tom owned and operated T&R Burner Service. Before branching out as a business owner Tom was employed by NS Cunards. Tom was an avid outdoors man and enjoyed being surrounded by nature. Tom and Ginny spent all of there free time at the camp on the lake, and became permanent camp residents in the early 90's. A celebration of Tom's life will be held on Saturday December 17th 2011, at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 at 1:00pm, with a reception to follow. At the request of Tom, and in lieu of flowers, Tom asked that donations be made to St Margaret's Bay Animal Hospital in care of Dr. F Bails DVM, where they shared his appreciation, love and dedication to animal companions for seniors.
