Thomas A. Gannon

GANNON, Thomas A. – It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tom Gannon, age 60, son of the late Joe and Edith (Butts) Gannon. Tom passed away at Northwood Centre on August 21, 2011 surrounded by family. Tom was a dedicated employee of Canada Post for 33 years prior to his illness in 2007. He will always be remembered for his quick wit, generosity and his desire to help others even during his own illness. Tom is survived by sons: Steven Clarke Gannon and David Joseph Gannon and former wife Lynn; brother Joe (Mary) Gannon; sisters Pauline, Sheila (David) Finch, Shauna (Gary) Riggs, and Laura (Adam) Threlfall and many nieces and nephews.

A mass in Tom’s honour will be celebrated on Thursday, August 25th, 10:30 a.m., at St. Theresa’s Church, North Street. Reception to follow in the church hall, Father Roberto Donato officiating. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lwr. Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Northwood Care Inc., 2615 Northwood Terrace, Halifax N.S. B3K 3S5.
