Valerie Doreen (Winchcombe) Jackson

Age 90, of Halifax, it is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Valerie Doreen Jackson on May 1, 2025 with her daughters by her side. Born in Halifax, she was the eldest daughter of the late Densel and George Edmund

Winchcombe. Valerie was a member of the lODE Canada for many years and worked for Maritime Tel and Tel until her retirement in 1991. After retiring she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchilden, working in her garden, knitting, crocheting, needlework, reading and doing puzzles. Valerie was a wonderful cook but baking was her true love. Her chocolate chip cookies and butter tarts were legendary among her family and work colleagues. She was called “Cook Cook” by her great-

niece, Elise. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Keith and brother Theodore " Teddy". She is survived by her daughters Gina (Ted) and Kelly (Joe); grandchildren lan, Matthew, Kaylee (Nico) and Emily; her great-grandchildren Skylar, Luka, Enzo and Gino; sisters Janet and Elizabeth, sister-in-law Elaine and many nieces and nephews. A private family burial service will be held.
