

She is survived by her devoted husband, Kyle; mother, Irma (van Stavel) Vaughan, of Halifax; father, Dr. Daniel Vaughan of Texas; brother, Peter; sister, Amanda, and half siblings, Hannah and Patrick; paternal grandmother, Shirley Vaughan; aunts, Rosemary van Stavel and Vicky Vaughan and uncle, Ted Vaughan as well as many cousins. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Sarah LeBlanc; brother-in-law, Jason Giovannetti and parents-in-law, Dr. Alison Kelland and Derek Wells .She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Alice and Francis van Stavel and paternal grandfather James Vaughan.
Born December 18, 1986, in Halifax, Vanessa graduated from Sacred Heart School of Halifax, in 2004, and went on to Acadia University to complete a Bachelor of Applied Science. Vanessa married the love of her life Kyle, on December 17, 2016. She was a lover of fresh seafood, especially lobster, fancy shoes, and intellectual debates, which, of course, she always won. She loved to dance and to travel when able.
Throughout her 31 years she was the epitome of strength and courage in the face of her Cystic Fibrosis, making sure few people saw her struggle. She loved being a big sister, and always ensured everyone in the family was taken care of. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Visitation will be held at J.A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, on Thursday, August 23, from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral at Hope United Church, 3055 Connaught Avenue, Halifax, on Friday, August 24, at 11:00 am.
