It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vesta Jean Zinck at the QEII Hospital on December 15, 2017. Vesta was born in Williamsburg, NB. She was the daughter of the late Donald and Ruby Fullarton.
At the young age of 15, she moved to Fredericton to attend High School, quite unheard of for the times. Once there she never looked back. Married to a military man, she moved numerous times in Canada and Europe. She enjoyed seeing new places and always said, “Home is where you hang your hat.” She love family more than anything. She was never happier than when everyone was together - that’s when the tea pot and a massive “snack” would appear. On her birthday in July, she celebrated with family and friends that hadn’t been together in years.
In later years she enjoyed cruising, reading, doing Sudoku, crosswords and cryptoquotes. All who met her loved her quiet, sweet disposition and her shy smile. Never one to complain or criticize, she was a joy to be around.
Vesta is survived by her husband, Leo, Halifax; daughter, Karen (Charles), Brookside, NS; grandsons, Lee (Rebecca), Grande Prairie, AB; Ryan (Silver) Edmonton, AB; great - granddaughters, Erin and Brooke. Sisters, Elva (Jerry) Edmonton, AB; Noreen, Harvey Station, NB; Nola, Gaspereau Valley, NS. Brother, Paul (Lorraine), Fredericton, NS and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Dennis, Ralph and Donald, Jr.
Memorial service will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, on Monday, December 18, at 11:00 am, the Rev. Gerald Zinck officiating. Family burial in East Dover Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice.
