HENNEBERRY, Wade Harold - 52, of Halifax, NS, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Victoria General site, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Sambro, NS, he was the son of Harold Edgar Henneberry and the late Geraldine Frances (MacFarlane) Henneberry. Wade was a well liked and respected employee of the Armdale Yacht Club. He was the yard foreman and was entering his 36th year of employment with AYC. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying his annual hunting trips with friends. He especially loved deer season and the time he spent in the peace and quiet of the woods. When he had his beagles, Scrapper and Max, they would spend afternoons chasing marathon rabbits, often having to return the next day to retrieve the dogs. Wade loved to fish and would often spend time on the lakes trout fishing. The other hobby Wade adored was playing his guitar. For years he was part of a band and played local venues and weddings for friends and family. He would practice songs over and over until they were perfect. Most of his hobbies came to an end with his progressing illness as his vision and strength were affected to the point that they were no longer possible. Along with his father, Wade is survived by his sisters Patricia (Danny) Gray of Sambro, Sandra Duncan and Angela (Sherman) Garrison of Halifax; and bothers Darrell (Judy) of Newfoundland and Carter(Elenor) of Sambro. He is also survived by his wife, Tanya Medynski and best friend Edward Pincock of Halifax; several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by mother, Geraldine (MacFarlane) Henneberry and sister Judy (Gerald) Hovey of Stewiacke, NS. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax (902) 455-0531, on Friday, April 29, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, April 30, at 11 a.m., Reverend Woods officiating. Burial will be in Saint James Cemetery, Sambro, following the reception. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Palliative Care at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, The Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice. Immediately following the memorial service there will be a reception in Wade’s honour at Snow’s.
