Born in Halifax on Auguat 15, 1929, he was the son of the late Peter and Florence Burns.
Walter worked at Maritime Tel & Tel for 42 years.
He is survived by his companion Madelyn Blakeney, sister Dorothy, brothers Peter and Cyril (Jim). He is predeceased by his wife Phyliss, sisters Kathleen and Anna.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax (902) 455-0531 on Tuesday, February 22nd at 2 p.m., Rev. David Hann officiating.
