With great sadness, we announce the passing of Wayne Reginald Marryatt. Our brother died peace-fully surrounded by family after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer on September 15, 2016. Son of the late Reginald Ernest Marryatt and Freda Urqhart Archibald, Wayne grew up in Halifax and attended QEH followed by Dalhousie University for undergraduate, Masters and LLB degrees. Wayne practiced law at Daley Black and Moreira and lastly with McInnes Cooper as a Partner in the firm until his death. Wayne was the consummate athlete, excelling in volleyball throughout high school and university. He also loved golf, tennis, hiking, cycling and canoeing and would not turn down the odd mountain climb when the opportunity arose. He loved spending time at Sherbrook Lake at his cottage as well as his wife's family home in Cape Breton. Wayne is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Susan MacDonald and her sons, Matthew and Timothy (Leanna) Percy; his sisters, Wendy Mathers (Ross) and Karen MacDonald (Ken), and their families. Donations may be made to the Wayne Marryatt Scholarship Fund that has been established to honour Dalhousie volleyball players excelling in their sport, payable to Dalhousie University Office of Advancement or to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. A private, family only service will be held, followed by a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date. On-line condolences may be made by visiting:
