William R Comerford

William “Bill” R Comerford - 74 , of Halifax, passed away peacefully at his home on August 30 2011. Born in Blockhouse Lunenburg, NS, he was the son of the late Alvin and Eva Comerford. Bill retired from Canada Post after a dedicated 27 years of service. Bill was a very active member of the deaf community, and he enjoyed spending his time with friends and family. He also enjoyed going for walks, doing puzzles and playing cards. Bill leaves behind many friends and family members with fond memories of his infectious laugh, his love for life and his ability to light up any room with his presence. Bill is survived by his wife of 14 years, Agnes M Comerford (Jackman) , his sister Irene, his step son Colin, 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is pre-deceased by his parents, and his sister Mary. Funeral service will be held at St George’s Church, 2222 Brunswick St, Halifax, on Friday September 2nd at 10am, with a reception to follow in church hall. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, and the Society of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Nova Scotians.
