Melvin, William A. “Bill”-83 of Halifax passed away peacefully at home on January 13, 2021. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late William Sr. and Margaret (Connolly) Melvin. Bill was an avid bowler and over the years he was involved with various leagues and teams. A perfect Saturday night for Bill was having a cold beer and listening to country music. He was a hardworking man who loved his family fiercely. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sylvia (Hiles); daughters, Susan (Martin) Fraser and Karen Westcott; grandchildren, Dustin, Melissa, Nikita, Jacqueline, Jared; great grandchildren, Reid, Lincoln and Eastyn; sisters, Joan, Shirley (Mickey), Margie, Paula (Kevin), Debbie (Steve), Darlene (Dave); brothers, Frank (Stephanie), Joe (Donna), Jim, Pat (Debbie), Dave (Marg), George, and Stephen (Kathy); as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his son, Bobby; grandson, David; brothers, Edward, Wayne and Tony; and sister, Mary. Sister in-laws May, Gail, and Louise. Funeral service will be held on Thursday January 21, 2021 at 2pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Covid 19 restrictions will be observed.
