William Andrew Melvin

Bill was an avid bowler and over the years he was involved with various leagues and teams. A perfect Saturday night for Bill was having a cold beer and listening to country music. He was a hardworking man who loved his family fiercely.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sylvia (Hiles); daughters, Susan (Martin) Fraser and Karen Westcott; grandchildren, Dustin, Melissa, Nikita, Jacqueline, Jared; great grandchildren, Reid, Lincoln and Eastyn; sisters, Joan, Shirley (Mickey), Margie, Paula (Kevin), Debbie (Steve), Darlene (Dave); brothers, Frank (Stephanie), Joe (Donna), Jim, Pat (Debbie), Dave (Marg), George, and Stephen (Kathy); as well as many nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his son, Bobby; grandson, David; brothers, Edward, Wayne and Tony; and sister, Mary. Sister in-laws May, Gail, and Louise.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday January 21, 2021 at 2pm in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Covid 19 restrictions will be observed. The service may be viewed online at https://funeraweb.tv/en/diffusions/22817. Burial will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the 4th Floor Hematology Unit at the Victoria General Hospital. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Nicholas Forward and Danielle from the 4th Floor Hematology Clinic at the VG site.
