

Born in Bombay, India, she was the only daughter of the late Canino Antony Pinto and Leonora Moniz Pinto.
After graduation as a physician in India and having received appropriate post-graduate qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, she practiced as Assistant Laboratory Hematologist in the Department of Pathology at the QEII Health Sciences Centre until her retirement in 1993.
In 1985, she was married to Dr. Hugh Angus Nobel who predeceased her in 1995. With his loving support and encouragement, she completed her studies at the Atlantic School of Theology and obtained a Master’s Degree in Theological Studies. She also served as a volunteer as the chaplain at various hospitals.
She is survived by cousins in India, the United States and Canada.
Cremation has taken place and funeral arrangements have been entrusted to J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax, (455-0531). A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St Mary’s Basilica on Monday, December 23, 2013, at 9:30 am. Burial will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Salvations Army or any other charity.
